Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: John says their Black & Tans are great

General tips: Make your ADRs as soon as you can as this is a popular spot to watch the Illuminations. Request a seat on the patio for dinner around 7:30 pm

TheMouseForLess tips: We used our DDE card and received a 20% discount on everything including the drinks.

Extra Comments: We like to arrive a little early for dinner and have a drink in the pub.

Who: The Pelton Family -- DH, me, DD11, DD11, DD8

Where: Rose & Crown (England, Epcot World Showcase)

When: Jan 8 2007

What: dinner

Approximate Price of Entrees: $175.01 total for a family of 5

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 4
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: Sticky toffee pudding

General tips: There was a sign or a note somewhere saying you can't request particular tables, and that you need to be done your meal in 2 hours or less. I guess they don't want people lingering so they can see IllumiNations. Also, if you have to wait for your ADR, you can get a drink at the stand outside the pub, and bring it to your table with you when you are called.

TheMouseForLess tips: Disney Dining Experience card Ð saved 20% ($32.86)

Extra Comments: We totally lucked out on this one. I called in the morning to see what they had open, and we got a 7:20 p.m. ADR. I knew we couldn't request any particular seating, but I was so happy when they led us to a lakeside table on the terrace. The timing was perfect, and we got to watch IllumiNations while eating sticky toffee pudding and drinking coffee. It really was wonderful.
We really enjoyed our whole experience at this restaurant.
Note for vegetarians; there really wasn't much on the menu, but they did offer a vegetarian version of the cottage pie that wasn't on the menu. DD11 really liked it.

Who: Anderson Mic and Jeff, late 30's, and our friends with their 10 yr old DD

Where: Rose and Crown, UK

When: October, 2005

What: Lunch - 2 adults and the 10 yr old had the Cottage Pie (ie Sheperd's Pie) and it was so yummy ! The best I have ever had. The other 2 adults had the Ploughman's Salad, which they really enjoyed.

Approximate Price of Entrees: Cottage Pie $11.99 (child's size $5.99) Ploughman's Salad $12.99

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 4 while our waitstaff was friendly, the service seemed awfully slow to me and caused our guys to be late for the beer tasting outside while they waited and waited to pay the bill. And if you are late, you don't get in :(
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: Stella Artois ale, it's not English but we all really liked it!

TheMouseForLess tips: the salad definately could feed 2 people, it was huge!

Extra Comments: If you are visiting during the Food and Wine fest inquire about the beer tastings outside

Who: Joe and Scott

Where: Rose and Crown in England

When: October 23, 2005 @ 1pm. (no ADR, we had about a 15 minute wait)

What: Lunch

Approximate Price of Entrees: 4 Black and Tan beers @ $7.00/pint, Bangers and Mash @ $13.99, Guinness Stew $15.99 all not including tax and tip

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 3
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes, childrens favorites such as pizza and fish and chips are offered
Okay for Couples: Yes, its a fun place to have lunch or dinner and have a few beers or better yet to watch Illuminations
Be Sure to Try: The Guinness Stew was quite tasty and was served piping hot. On another visit we tried the Fish and Chips platter and it was also excellent.

General tips: Sitting on the patio was great, the roof is covered in case of rain, but if it is humid outside it can take away from the dining experience.

TheMouseForLess tips: The prices are a bit high and portion size could be a bit bigger. If you want to have dinner and then watch Illuminations outside on the patio make the latest ADR available, this is an excellent place to watch the fireworks.

Extra Comments: We ate on the patio and it seemed as if they were understaffed. It took a long time to get our beers both times and our server only came back once to check on us. Perhaps this was just a fluke.
