Elise's Homemade Autograph Book

I took inspiration from the MFL website about the homemade autograph books! I made them for my kids and they are awesome. A great original keepsake. Buzz is the front & Woody is the inside front cover of my son's book. I did DD's with a Pooh theme. It is a bit more ornate just because I found better stickers. I couldn't find stickers with just the little hunny pots and such.

I bought the books at Michael's (a craft store in my town). To make it more Dollarless (because they sell for about $8) I waited for a coupon from the Sunday circular for 40% off. They were having a Grand Opening at another location & were giving out 50% off coupons so I saved $ that way.

The biggest expense, proportionately, in terms of the items was the cards. I used greeting cards and it was hard to find them because you don't often find Disney cards at the Half Off Cards store. You need cards that have an image that is easy enough to cut out & a good view of the face, plus the correct size. I ended up paying regular price for the cards because I didn't want to waste more time/gas money driving all over looking for cards!! You could use lots of different things but I liked the thickness of the card stock for the cover.

I bought a small bottle of Modge Podge & used that to glue the cut outs to the covers. I used a bunch of coatings of the Modge Podge, then sealed it with a plain acrylic sealer. We embellished with acid-free stickers bought on sale at Michael's & Party City. We will use extra stickers to embellish the pages that are autographed.

I think all in all I probably spent about the same as i would have for 2 new autograph books in the park but I love these. I They're bigger and the pages are made of card stock so they can accomodate photos nicely and they are personal to my kids. We once had an autograph book stolen out of my daughter's stroller. I think it is unlikely that someone with a son named Sam will find this & swipe it & my daughter's name is Logan which is not a common name for a girl & boys don't usually like Pooh & floweres!! I think it is so much more a keepsake this way.

Thanks again for posting the other photos for inspiration.
