Getting and Using Disney Mail Sounds
By Michael Boyer - 9/24/2001

Get your Disney mail sounds at:
GotMailDisneySounds

First, put the file into your c:\windows\media folder. it's a wav file - mine is called Mickey-Mail something. Then, go into Control Panel, (Start, Settings, Control Panel) Click on sounds, then under Events, New Mail Notification, click on Browse to bring you to the media folder and select that file.

Thanks for posting the instructions, Audrey! They worked great for me using Outlook Express under Windows ME. As long as members are using a Microsoft Email Tool like Outlook, Outlook Express or Exchange under one of the Windows 9X/ME OSs, then modifying the "New Mail Notification" sound under the Operating System's Sound Control Panel Applet should do the trick. I'm not sure whether all the third party email tools like Eudora use the same sound events, but they should! Those members that are running on Macs, well I know nothing about Macs, so I couldn't tell you how to modify the sound used to notify you of new email on a Mac. Then there are those members which are using Web/Browser based email tools. Each of these Web based email interfaces is different so you will have to check their documentation/help for any information on sound notifications, but I suspect these tools will NOT have any type of sound notification. Finally there are the AOL users :-) I know nothing about AOL either, but from the exchanges I've seen on this list, I am under the impression that AOL does have a configurable sound for notifying you of new email. See the AOL documentation/help for further details. Thanks again Audrey and to all you non-Windows members out there, good luck!

BTW, if the link does not work for you, simply go to the MFL Yahoo "Files" section and look for a folder called "Got Mail Disney Sounds".
