Deciphering TheMouseForLess
REGARDING CLICKABLE URLS!
By Michael Boyer - 3/11/2002
TIP FOR MEMBERS REGARDING CLICKABLE URLS!
(or the reason why the "Picture to Share" link did not work for some :-)
Many times they are NOT click able even though they show up blue and
underlined. More accurately they are click able but they will not take you
where you expect or you will simply get a blank screen or error message from
your browser. WHY?!
Because many URLs are LOOOOOOOOOOOONG and get split in two because computers
like to "wrap" things :-P SO, don't just necessarily click on the
blue/underlined thing. Take a look at the next line below it and often it
will be the second part of the URL(Universal Resource Locator, Geek Talk
:-). If that is the case, you will need to manually select each piece of
the URL and carefully cut&paste it into the address line of your browser.
Many people, when including a LONG URL in a message will enclose it in
brackets <>, like this
<
http://www.ofoto.com/BrowsePhotos.jsp?UV=586248062495_81843375
303&US=0&collid=26362375303>
to help the reader identify the starting and ending points of the URL in
case it does get split. Remember, do NOT include the brackets when doing
the cut & paste operation. Hope this helps some :-)
